Print or embroidery?

When it comes to updating or creating branded uniform you may be wondering what there is to consider when deciding between printed and embroidered clothing. At Mi Workwear we supply both print and embroidery, so we know what looks best! Below we have highlighted which factors you should take into consideration when making your choice:

Type of garment

The material of the garment will determine whether to go for print or embroidery. We highly recommend using print on t-shirts as embroidery on a t-shirt can stretch the fabric. If you like the embroidered finish opt for a polo shirt, the thicker material can withstand the stitching without the garment stretching. If you don’t fancy a polo shirt but will want the embroidered finish, here at Mi Workwear we can source heavier weight t-shirts that can support an embroidered logo.

What will the personalised items be used for?

This is something you need to consider. If you are looking for a garment to be used short-term for a specific event or for advertisement, then you will want a cost-effective solution. For this we would recommend printed t-shirts, lower in price and more flexible with design. On the flip side, if you are after a high-quality and durable garment that will last a long time then we would suggest embroidered polo-shirts. This may be the costliest of the two options, but embroidery will last the life time of your garment so is well worth the investment.

What is the nature of the design?

Do you require a simple logo or is it a graphic with a lot of text? When working with company logos it’s best to use embroidery as it looks high in quality, an impressive uniform is bound to leave a lasting impression of your company. If you needed something stand out on your uniform with important text such as ‘Security’ and ‘First Aid’ or social media tags such as ‘@MiWorkwear’ and ‘#Miworkwear’ then print is the better option. Not only does it expand your allowance of text and graphics, but it is also added with ease.
